BEGINNERS GUIDE | |
Member Groups Townie: These are the people who safely live within the fence of Hillside. They have a variety of jobs but most have no intention of ever stepping outside the confines of their nice little town. Here they have a system: ration dollars get you everything. Much like in the rest of the world. They have food, running water, and electricity which makes this place an incredible safe haven. Though some people likely feel trapped by the fence. Survivor: These are the people who safely made it to Sanctuary but aren't Monks, Scientists, or Military. They're just normal, everyday people who had the luck of finding the well guarded site. Many of them spend their time much like the townies would, helping run the everyday side of the place such as farming, making clothes, cooking food, gathering water. Honestly, they're the safest group in the entire place. They get their name from making it to Sanctuary, a title that the Military gave them. Bounty Hunter: This group can be found within Hillside at times, some often building a house in the town though rarely spending time in it. These people are the people who make supply runs and hunt down zombies for their family members, finally putting them to rest. Not all bounty hunters are good, not to say that all are evil either though. Bounty Hunters are the ones who built and currently run Gameland, a place of gambling. These people are often the ones who kidnap people and shove them into the zombie pits to fight for their lives. Are all bounty hunters in on this? Certainly not. But there are those who happily take up residence at Gameland without batting an eyelash. Monk: This group of people have dedicated their lives to helping others. They are the first to lend a helping hand to any in need, especially the zombies. They believe that the zombies are the meek who inherited the earth and should not be harmed. They are usually found at Sanctuary, though there are a few monks who have way stations for travelers and bounty hunters, sharing meals, safety, and supplies with those who need it. Scientist: The scientists are the last hope for a cure in the zombie plagued world. They remain in their labs at Sanctuary, rarely making an appearance outside of their walls because all of their time is spent studying and trying to cure the world. Not all scientist are working toward this sought after cure. Some are working on disease that the world used to have vaccinations to and others are twisted, working on mutating the plague further. Those who are working on mutations do it quietly though, behind the scenes, knowing that their goals would quickly be shut down by the military. Military: These people are the last of the armed forces from the government before First Night. Now, they stand watch over Sanctuary, protecting its secrets, its people, and its incredibly important scientist. These soldiers are highly trained and are often sent out on missions to observe the plague or bring back supplies to Santuary. Reaper: The Reapers are a religious cult that worships Thanatos, god of death. Like the monks, they believe that the zombies are the meek who have inherited the earth. Unlike the monks though, the Reapers have given themselves a purpose. Their purpose is to send all members of the human race into the darkness, traveling from place to place and slaughtering towns to give them to darkness. The only ones that are saved are those that have joined the Reapers, either to save their own skin or because they honestly believe in the darkness and the purpose of the reapers. This is a very dangerous traveling group who is hellbent on destroying Sanctuary. Nomad: This group consists of those people who simply haven't found Sanctuary or Hillside, or who prefer to be out in the wilderness on their own. Some travel in small groups, others run it solo. They aren't affiliated with any group and most prefer to stay that way, though there are certainly those that are simply looking for a place to call home. Levels Each character on the site will have a level. These levels will detail how skilled your character is and certainly helps their chance of survival in the apocalypse. There are a few ways to rank up around the board, which will be detailed in the next post, and ways to earn better weapons and skills. To make the game fair, everyone starts at the beginning. Level 1: This is the level that everyone starts out at on the site. When creating a new character, they will be considered a level one. This means that they will have a melee weapon and very limited skills. Monks will always be level 1. Level 2: These people will likely have a skill that will help them survive and a better weapon, either a gun of some sort or a better melee weapon. Most Townies, Survivors, and Scientists will always be level 2, unless the townie is trained for the guard. Level 3: These are the people who have gone through training of some sort and are developing their skills, being more likely to be able to easily defend themselves. They will likely have more than one weapon. Townies of the guard will be no higher than level 3. Level 4: This group has been sufficiently trained and could easily survive on their own if they choose to do so. Most likely consist of military personnel and bounty hunters. Level 5: Everyone in this level is incredibly dangerous. It is best to steer clear of them because they will have the top weapons and skills. Bounty Hunters, Reapers, and Nomads can reach this level. Some military can reach this level, especially if they were trained in Special Ops. |
