The way station was Alexis’ way of gaining trust with people outside of Gameland. It was odd for her to actually come across someone in the forest so by hanging around the way station and trading with the nomads, she saw who was actually out there. Sure some faces she only came across once but others she had grown accustomed to. A few words would be exchanged and weapons would rarely ever be raised and that was how Alexis worked. She wanted to see who she was up against in this world, survival of the fittest, right? “Good to know about the rabbits, never been much a hunter. But you’ll see me there in three days. I figure I make better company than those monks.” Alexis told him with a smile. Someone who was a monk was someone who Alexis would never hurt. There was no point to it and they were only there to help other people. She never even heard of a bounty hunter kidnapping a monk, it was probably some unwritten code not to take them. At least she hoped it was, a line had to be drawn somewhere and a monk might just come willingly to Gameland. “Well an ally was what I hoped to gain by not bringing you back to Gameland. So I guess that plan worked.” Alexis said a smile still on her lips as she couldn’t believe out of everyone left out there she was allied with a southern boy.
There were many things men could do to women that were worse than being killed but Alexis had taken those into consideration being living at Gameland. She actually took it into consideration long before Gamelande, when she was alone because she knew how men were. If she was warned about men before, always be careful of your surroundings, never be alone, always have an escape route, how would it be now that there would be no laws? Men were in charge once again (hasn’t anyone seen how well that went in the past?) and would use the: I’m stronger, I’m just better at everything over woman every single time. “I know that. Believe me I try to plan out every possible scenario. So I make friends with all the right people, the women who also reside in Gameland and make sure that if I do go missing that people will notice and ask questions.” Alexis already made friends with the women at the old resort but the next person she had to get close to was the man running Gameland. Once she got close to him, no one could touch her. “Do whatever you gotta do. It’s not like I’m missing any appointments.” She told him briefly glancing at him as he climbed the tree thinking that he’s a damn squirrel, as she leaned against the tree.
