To start this off, we'd like everyone to take the time to read all the threads in the Welcome category. This will likely answer many of your questions, though we're more than happy to take the time to answer questions or clarify something about the forum. This is just a list of questions as they have been presented to us and we're hoping to eliminate confusion. Thank you!

When do I need to make a Dice Roll?
The only time that you need to make a dice roll is if your thread includes a fight (between two characters or a character and a zombie), if there is looting or raiding in your thread, or if your character is searching for a safe house. In the case of a fight, staff does not need to check your roll. Highest roller in the Make A Roll thread will win the fight. If you make a roll for looting, raiding, or a safe house and admin will need to weigh in first however because each roll means something different!

If my character is fighting a zombie, will they be bitten?
Not necessarily. It's a possibility that your character can be bitten, but in the early stages of the site we're not going to be making that call. We want you to get your characters in and developed a bit before the real possibility of that arises in a fight against a zom. So for the first month or so, if you lose a roll against a zombie you will likely be injured or drop your weapon and have to find a new way to kill the zom.

Does this mean my character can't be bitten in the first month of the site?
Nope. There's a roll in the random events that is a zombie bite. We need everyone to be aware that this is an apocalypse and bad things do happen. You are creating a character on this forum with the knowledge that they CAN die. SO keep this in mind.

If my character is bitten, does this mean I'm out of the game?
Not necessarily. We have a shop that does allow for the purchase of a defibrillator. It's very expensive because we want people to be aware that their character can die in this world. You are only allowed two defibs per character, which means if your character is bitten a third time then they're out of here. You get a free defib when your character reaches Level 5, this does count in your two per character. KEEP THIS IN MIND.

How long does it take for the infection to take hold once bitten?
It depends on how healthy a person is. For someone healthy, the infection will spread through the body within 48 hours. For someone who is elderly or perhaps already sickly though, the infection could take hold in a matter of hours. No one is immune however, so once someone is bitten...that's it.
